BOOK READING AND SIGNING IN THE PERTH AMBOY GALLERY CENTER FOR THE ARTS
Authors Paul Wang and Katherine Massopust will be presenting their new book:
Then & Now: Perth Amboy
Saturday May 30, 2009 5:30 p.m.
In a new book by Arcadia publishing, local residents Paul W. Wang and Katherine A. Massopust compare vintage photographs with their contemporary images to reflect Perth Amboy’s transformations and to document history of Perth Amboy with a new look at today. They hope the book will “help people understand Perth Amboy’s rich history and that Perth Amboy is ever-changing.”
Highlights of Perth Amboy:
Features the Packer Hotel fire of 1969, the 1966 blizzard and the Cableworks fire
Shows Bayview Park before it was remodeled and how it looks today
Includes images from Fertigs, Sciortinos, King High, John Dyke, Jack M. Dudas and Barbara Booz
Illustrates five corners in the 1940s and a 2007 image of the present bank building
Contains snapshots of Foodtown and the Harbor Lights Tavern
Book will be for sale for May 30, 2009.
