AN ARTISTIC TRIBUTE TO PERTH AMBOY’S 325th ANNIVERSARY

OPENING RECEPTION:
With a lecture given on sunday July 27, 2008 by Joan Seguine-LeVine author of book Images of America,Perth Amboy and multi-media presentation Storefronts and Smokestacks and Perth Amboy Neighbors; The Danish Cycle, 1860-1935.
Artists attended Opening reception:Bill Bonner,Rose L. Pennyfeather, Eduardo Santos, Joan Turner and Danuta Wyszynski.Also Agnes Jesperse Hagmueller; Director of the Danish Home, Newton LeVine, who designed panels in exhibition and Jack Kjersgaard in research for panels.Thanks from a generous loan of Historical panels called “Storefronttts and Smoskestacks and Perth Amboy Neighbors”from the Danish Archive.More participants of this celebration inclded Curator Olga Bautista, History Coordinator Issa Vyas, from Middlesex Counry and Heritage Commission attended exhibition as well as Cathy Depow, Former Perth Amboy Historian.

FESTIVAL DE LOS ANDES.
PERTH AMBOY CELEBRATES AND MAINTAINS THE ANDES CULTURE.
The Perth Amboy Gallery Center for the Arts is celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Festival en Celebration of the Culture and Heritage of the Andes on Saturday June 28, 12:00-6:00p.m. at Fink Park Smith Street and Madison Avenue. This event is free and is part of the Urban Enterprise Zone’s, First Fridays event series held throughout the summer and will feature continuous folk music, folk dancing, arts and crafts an native clothing of Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia and Chile. We are looking for vendors, artists, musicians and dancers interested in participate in this festival. For more information call 732-826-8083.
